Most people see Telegram as a safe, reliable, and even private messaging app. But after my recent experience, I’ve started to believe there’s more going on behind the scenes than what meets the eye.

The scary part isn’t only losing access to your crypto wallet. Telegram has access to your contacts and the groups you’ve created.
If you own a large group—especially those with 5,000+ members—that’s a goldmine. Once you’re locked out, Telegram (or whoever controls the lockout system) can take over your group, your contacts, and use them however they want.
Most likely, this means:
- Pushing ads and promotions.
- Running crypto schemes.
- Exploiting your reputation while you’re stuck waiting for a login code that never comes.
My Proof and Research
I’m not writing this out of thin air. This is based on my personal research and direct experience. I have the evidence, and I’m still waiting to either:
- Get access back to my Telegram account, or
- Receive an official response from Telegram support.
